Fifth Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday, Matt and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. One of the perks of his job is that he joins his boss during "business" meetings at five star restaurants. He had dined here, at Villa Italia, a while back and logged it into his memory as a place to celebrate our anniversary.

The food and wine were superb. I fell in love with the decor. I love the way the designers used antique Portuguese tiles and blended them to come up with a modern look. I tried to take pictures with the new Canon Powershot Matt gave me as my anniversary gift, however, it was too formal of a restaurant to be snapping pictures. Matt put a kabosh to my picture taking very quickly. He only relented so our server could snap a picture of our memorable dinner celebration.

Five years, two moves, two babies, a long deployment, and we're still having fun together (I'd post then and now pictures, however, our old computer was never unpacked when we moved last year and all the older pictures are still on that computer)!

I didn't know Matt owned a jacket that wasn't military issue!

Congrats. May the next 5 be less hectic than the first 5.

Congratulations. What an interesting looking restaurant. What did you EAT??

Love the poll on your sidebar, too.

That is a great picture of the two of you. :)

Karie, I had scallops, shrimp, oysters, sole (all the food was very elegantly put together) with, white port, vinho verde (a white fizzy wine) and red wine. Dessert was a chocolate mousse cake and a Portuguese coffee (espresso, basically, though, I had the version with a bit of milk).

Ooop, Katie, it was you who asked what we ate.
