On the Road Again and Again and Again...

Well, we're smack in the middle of another overseas move. We're now in Vermont visiting my friends and family. We've stopped at random places with the girls and people will take note that we're on vacation. Almost always someone asks where we're from. Now that's a loaded question. The girls are quick though. Either Liv or Lila will explain that they were born in Alaska, then lived in Portugal, just moved from Kansas and are visiting grandparents before moving to Germany. They get this out in about five seconds. Vermonters seem much more impressed than New Yorkers.

I have several pictures - but no cord or card reader to load any. I'll try to get that worked out tomorrow or early next week - so check back.

Typical move stuff - Liv is acting out because it has "clicked" that she's moving. I've decided to cut some people out of the "must see" list in Vermont and just posted on Facebook where I'd be if they wanted to link up (If you aren't on FB, get with it. Seriously. If you're reading this and not on FB, you are one of the last hold outs. As someone who held out for a LONG time herself, I can tell you that you're missing out. I don't care if you're 70. Now's the time. Just do it). I just can't fit everyone in, driving around everywhere to do it. Family has become number one priority. Rushing around to see a dozen people in their homes wears on me.

So far (in no particular order), we've hit up a children's museum in St. Louis. Friends and family in NY and VT. A bit of mountain climbing as a family, a nasty BM accident in a car rental bathroom stall because someone let someone have too much juice on the plane from Chicago to NY, water-park fun, small grad-school party for Matt, a bee-sting in the eye, kids sleeping wonderfully (I mean it - even in the same bed), easy-peasy, long car rides (I will pay for saying that), an afternoon at Loon Lake, NY (tubing on the lake included), back yard fires, farm-to-table restaurants (VT), Broadway play in NYC (I highly recommend Promises, Promises!), and more. It's been wonderful and even, at times, very relaxing. I'm on my third book of the move.

This time next week we should be looking at houses. I can't even begin to tell you how stoked I am (I know. I'm a little old to be using the word stoked - but, I don't care - I'm STOKED) that we're moving to Germany. Ahhh. It's going to be so good to be back in the EU! Come visit us.

Of course, I already miss my dear friends in Kansas - you know who you are! Tears...

I was just looking on FB and wondering how the hell you managed to get all packed up and moved out and didn't seem stressed AT ALL. What am I missing here? You seem so calm about everything. I wish I had more of that....good for you!
