Precious Moments with Daddy

Humm, how can I get daddy to wake up?? Maybe a light kick will do the trick...

Since daddy works long hours and travels a lot, every moment the girls get with him is precious. Early Sunday morning, the girls hopped up on the couch with daddy and enjoyed rare moments of cuddle time with him.

Daddy, never quite caught up on sleep, enjoys a brief slumber

A side note: If you missed the stains on our couch, great. If you noticed them and you do not yet have kids (because if you have kids, you already know this), be warned! When couch shopping, knowing kids are in your future, buy kid-friendly fabric covered furniture (or the slip-covered kind). We will be replacing our furniture as soon as we get back to the States. What were we thinking when we bought furniture that doesn't allow for up spit-up, drool, sticky fingers, leaky sippy cup spills, snot smear and leaky diapers to be cleaned up well (vomit has yet to be tested - but, I'm quite sure the couch will be thrown out as soon as that happens)? And when we do get it up, the furniture is forever faded in that spot! Too bad couches can't be hidden in the closet or guest room when guests come...

I didn't notice the stains, actually. We had very similar furniture, and I thought that we were being pretty practical when buying it. I used our carpet and upholstery cleaner to clean it and ruined it LONG before we had children. It just pulled the color out of it, but not immediately. It was kind of a slow fade where I had cleaned it. Otherwise I could have stopped cleaning. We had very ugly furniture for a long time.

Though I would never have thought I'd like it, I love our leather furniture. Sticky fingers, spit up, all just wipes away. Dog hair even comes off of it easier.

I'm glad to see that your girls are getting time with daddy, however fleeting.

Angie,

The fading did start before we had kids - most cleaning products just ruin this fabric - even the stuff that came w/the couch. I too thought we were being practical. But, didn't think too hard about buying furniture with great quality fabric (or leather) that washes up quickly, easily and w/o fading it. URGH. Now, I feel like we wasted money. And, the couch cushions suck.

Thanks Nat for the advice on kid-friendly furniture. We'll be sure to keep that in mind when we finally get our first set of new furniture!!

The pics are very cute. I love taking pictures of Ed and Tate cuddling on the couch.

Don't worry, I didn't see the stains either.

I also love the pics in the previous blog. The face painting and video are so cute!

I didn't notice the stains either! We have similar couches and they are getting pretty bad. What is worse for us is the carpet in the family room. RUINED!!!!

The pictures are so cute!
